SCA Budget Alert | House Passes FY20 Transportation Spending Bill

By a vote of 277-194, the House passed its Transportation-HUD spending bill today as part of a broader minibus spending package. The bill represents a $6 billion increase above the fiscal 2019 enacted level and $17.3 billion more than President Trump’s budget request. The THUD spending bill, covers the Maritime Administration under the Department of Transportation.
Relevant amendments considered on the floor include:
- ADOPTED – DeFazio (No. 233) that would prohibit the authorization of transportation of liquefied natural gas by rail tank car and would prohibit the Secretary of Transportation from using funds to authorize transportation of liquefied natural gas by rail tank car by issuance of a special permit or approval.
